CRADDOCK TANDEM EARNED WORKOUT BULLETS FRIDAY AT REMINGTON PARK

For Immediate Release –  Oklahoma City, OK, July 26, 2024  – A pair of 3-year-old fillies from the barn of trainer Kari Craddock teamed up to earn a bullet four-furlong workout Friday morning at Remington Park.

Maybe Dolcie and Kamikaze worked in company under sunny skies with temperatures in the mid-70s. They were clocked in :47.91 handily over a fast track. Jeremy Collier, training assistant for Craddock, was aboard Kamikaze while Fortino Salas was on Maybe Dolcie.

Working as a pair, or in company, has educational benefits that some horses need according to Craddock.

“It Makes them competitive, gives them someone to go with,” Craddock said. “Kamikaze needs help getting competitive, Maybe Dolcie was along for the ride. Some of them are natural, but a lot of them need to learn to be competitive and learn to want to win. It doesn’t all come just natural.”

Maybe Dolcie, an Oklahoma-bred daughter of Atreides from the Election Day (Ire) mare Buena Fortuna (Mex) was bred by Craddock and is owned by her Craddock Racing, LLC. Maybe Dolcie broke her maiden at Remington Park on Dec. 14, 2023. She will seek her second career victory during the Thoroughbred season here that begins Aug. 16. After seven lifetime attempts, Maybe Dolcie has one win, one place and one show.

Kamikaze is owned and bred by Kirk Thoroughbreds of Luther, Okla. and is still seeking her first career triumph. An Oklahoma-bred daughter of Mizzen Mast from the Eskendereya mare Katitche, Kamikaze has started twice without a placing and will make her first Remington Park attempt soon.

Maybe Dolcie and Kamikaze shared the best four-furlong time of the 21 horses that went that distance Friday.

The Thoroughbred Season at Remington Park begins Aug. 16 and continues through Dec. 13.
