OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – July 24, 2026 – rainer Travis Murphy, of Jones, Okla., sent out multiple-stakes winner Won Happy Mama for a workout Friday morning over the Remington Park track.
Won Happy Mama, a 5-year-old Iowa-bred mare by Runhappy, out of the Elusive Quality mare Vicarious Won, tried three furlongs in a time of :36.57 seconds over a fast track. Friday training took place under cloudy skies with temperatures in the high 70s.
Won Happy Mama, winner of the Mamie Eisenhower Stakes and the Saylorville Stakes at Prairie Meadows in Altoona, Iowa in 2025, has never officially raced at Remington Park. She has built an excellent resume for Murphy and his co-owners with the mare – Matt Trent and Poindexter Thoroughbreds.
Won Happy Mama has been out 16 times in her career, winning six times, running second twice and third once for earnings of $336,927. The mare’s last out was in the Grade 2, $400,000 Franklin Stakes at Keeneland in Lexington, Ky., on Oct. 12 last fall. She finished sixth in that difficult spot. She had won the two stakes at Prairie Meadows – the Eisenhower by 1-1/4 lengths at six furlongs on the dirt as the 5-2 second favorite on June 20,2025, and the Saylorville by three-quarters of a length on July 4, 2025, at 7-1 odds, also at six furlongs. Jockey Elvin Gonzalez was aboard for both victories in Iowa.
The 2026 Remington Park Thoroughbred Season begins Friday, Aug. 21 and continues to Saturday, Dec. 19.
