OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – October 28, 2026 — Fine Finish proved too much to beat as the 1-5 favorite in the featured turf allowance race Wednesday night as jockey Jose Alvarez put her in perfect stalking position. The race was over the turf at about one mile for fillies and mares, three and older.

The 4-year-old Kentucky-bred filly by Summer Front, out of the Haynesfield mare Freudian Finish, sat just off the pace in second for the first half of the race, chasing 20-1 longshot Donita. Fine Finish pounced on the front-runner with a half-mile to go and had a full-length lead, turning for home. She led the last half of the race to the wire for trainer Bret Calhoun.

Fine Finish hit the finish line in 1:37.32 over the firm going. She chased early fractions of :23.54 for the first quarter-mile and :47.90 for the half-mile. Fine Finish lived up to her name for the final panels, setting the latter fractions of 1:12 for three-quarters of a mile and 1:24.45 for seven-eighths of a mile. Mi Diamante (10-1) checked in second, another half-length ahead of Queen Wilhelmina (19-1), who was closing like a freight train.

Fine Finish paid $2.60 to win, $2.20 to place and $2.10 to show, earning $23,070 for the win from the $39,000 purse. She improved to 16 starts, four wins, four seconds and three thirds for a total bankroll of $185,663. Fine Finish was bred by her owners Wayne Sanders and Larry Hirsch of Dallas, Texas.
