FIVE REMINGTON PARK JOCKEYS POST RIDING DOUBLES FRIDAY NIGHT

Oklahoma City, OK, August 15, 2025  – Remington Park presented 10 races on Friday night, Aug. 15. The card offered plenty of winning opportunities for all horsemen involved but only five jockeys were able to find the winner’s circle, each winning two races.

Jockey Ernesto Valdez-Jiminez wasted no time in gaining his riding double, winning the opening daily double with Magna Tap ($7 to win) in the first race and He’s All Ears ($30.40) in the second. The pair of victories pushed the season total to Valdez-Jiminez to three.

No Trouble ($15.40) won the third race under Floyd Wethey, Jr. It took until race five for Wethey to gain his double, scoring on She’sskysthelimit. The 7-year-old Oklahoma-bred mare by Sky Mesa from the Rock Hard Ten broodmare Shirley She Can won over the turf to win for the 14th time in her 48 career attempts. She now has a two-race win streak at Remington Park, pairing the Friday triumph with her win here on Oct. 17, 2024.

Wethey has accumulated five wins for the season.

Ramon Vazquez, riding regularly at Remington Park for the first time since 2021, won race four on Wind of Change (Brz) ($3.20). Vazquez, a five-time riding champ at Remington Park (2013-2017), then won with Echoes of Violence ($17.40) in race nine. Vazquez has six wins on the season.

Stewart Elliott, leading rider the last two seasons (2023 & 2024) at Remington Park, and currently leading the standings, put his riding double together in consecutive races. El Queso Grande ($9.80) won with Elliott in race six. The seventh race completed the double with Competitive Bond ($3.40). Elliott now has nine wins this season.

Jose Alvarez picked up the front-end of his double in race eight on Cowboycents ($8.20). He completed the job by taking the 10th and final race aboard Imua Kai ($5.20) the other end of the card by taking the late daily double. The Friday double provided Alvarez with his first two wins this season.

Miss Code West, the defending two-time Horse of the Meeting, makes her Remington Park season debut on Saturday in an allowance for Oklahoma-bred fillies and mares. The Saturday, Aug. 16 program starts at 6pm-Central.
