CABRERA AND TROUT GARNER LIP CHIP HONORS FOR SECOND WEEK OF REMINGTON PARK SEASON

Oklahoma City, OK, August 20, 2025  – An upset victory by Letta’s Legacy, over two-time defending Remington Park Horse of the Meeting Miss Code West, helped jockey David Cabrera and trainer C.R. Trout earn the weekly Lip Chip Awards.

Owned, trained and bred in Oklahoma by C.R. Trout of Edmond, Okla., Letta’s Legacy overcame starting last in the featured allowance for Oklahoma-bred females on Aug. 16, to win the race at 6-1/2 furlongs by 2-3/4 lengths. Cabrera put an expert ride on his filly, getting her to the lead before the top of the stretch. She had plenty left in the tank to hold off a mild rally from Miss Code West to score the upset.

The win for Trout was his second of the week at Remington Park. He also won with Crystal Claire in a $10,000-claiming event for Oklahoma-bred fillies and mares on Aug. 14 for owner Dr. Michael Major.

The victory aboard Letta’s Legacy was the third on the Saturday night program for David Cabrera. He totaled four wins for the three-date racing week at Remington Park from his 19 mounts. Cabrera also finished in-the-money with three seconds and a pair of thirds, for 47-percent tally. He won with 21-percent of his mounts.

Cabrera and Trout will receive their Lip Chip vests during the Remington Park races on Thursday, Aug. 21.
