Remington Park article by Richard Linihan

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – October 23, 2026 — Brilliant Plan won his second consecutive race at Remington Park this meet on Thursday night, and it was his fifth trip to the winner’s circle in his last seven starts for owner-trainer Karen Jacks.

The 3-year-old Kentucky-bred gelded son of Hard Spun, out of the Bernardini mare Sugarcraft, was guided home to his second win in a row by the same jockey who has been aboard for both starts – Stewart Elliott. Brilliant Plan was sent off as the 4-5 odds-on choice and paid $3.80 to win, $2.60 to place and $2.40 to show.

The Brilliant Plan win on Thursday came in a $40,000 allowance for horses that had not won two career races other than maiden, claiming, starter, optional, rating or restricted races, or were non winners of three races lifetime.

The running time for Brilliant Plan at six furlongs over the fast main track was 1:09.68. He set all of the internal fractions, leading after a few strides from the start with :22.50 for the first quarter-mile, :45.31 for the half-mile and :57.15 for five-eighths of a mile. The win tonight came in a $40,000 allowance for horses that had not won two-other-than or non-winners of three lifetime.

Brilliant Plan won a similar race here on Sept. 18 by three-quarters of a length at 6-1/2 furlongs as the 2-1 favorite. Brilliant Plan won a little easier on Thursday night by a widening 3-1/4 lengths and earned $23,934 for the effort. He improved lifetime to eight starts, five wins, one second and one third for a total bankroll of $118,459.

Brilliant Plan was bred by Godolphin and purchased by Jacks for $10,000 from the Fasig-Tipton October 2025 Digital Sale.

Million-Dollar Baby, Skyforge, Breaks Maiden Status
Skyforge, a million-dollar-plus purchase at sale, broke her maiden as a 3-year-old Kentucky-bred filly in her fifth start Thursday night for the barn of Steve Asmussen. The daughter of Gun Runner, out of the Flower Alley mare Awesome Flower, was bought for $1,050,000 from the Keeneland September Yearling Sale of 2024. She made it to the winner’s circle a couple of years later.

In her first try at Remington Park, Skyforge was sent off at 1-9 odds, and cruised to a 4-1/2 lengths victory for owner Windancer Farm (Versailles, Ky.), who bought her in 2024. Jockey Erik Asmussen took the rains for the third time in five starts for the trip to the winner’s circle. He almost won with her on Aug. 16 this summer at Ellis Park in Kentucky, coming up a head short in second at 12-1 odds. Asmussen shipped her to Churchill Downs in Louisville, Ky., after that $120,000 maiden special weight race and she went off at 7-5, finishing third when she shied from the crop at the 3/16ths mark. Skyforge faded in that race, seven lengths back at the wire. That was her last race, on Sept. 27, before she was moved to Oklahoma City. The filly was bred by Stonestreet Thoroughbred Holdings. Her record improved to five starts, one first, one second and one third for $58,522 in earnings.

Skyforge paid $2.20 to win, $2.10 to place and $2.10 to show and won the 1-1/16th mile race on the main track in 1:45.84. She won the race after stalking early in third.
